Repair privacy policy
Last updated 31 August 2026. Applies to the Repair mobile app for iOS and Android, and to this page.
Repair is a private tool for resetting after an argument with your partner and finding the words to reach back out. This page explains exactly what the app does with your information — it is written to be accurate rather than reassuring. If something here reads as a limitation, it is one.
Who we are
Repair is operated by OSHY LABS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 16883720, with its registered office at 100 St Pier Court, 549 Green Street, London E13 9GU, United Kingdom. OSHY LABS LTD is the data controller for the information described here.
For any privacy question or request, contact arnold.oshenye@oshylabs.eu.
The short version
- We store your email address, because that is how you sign in.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, that provider gives us your email address (and, with Apple, optionally your name) to create your account; we get nothing else from those accounts, and Apple's "Hide My Email" relay addresses work like any other email.
- We do not store what you write in the app. Your reflections and the message drafts we generate exist on your phone and in memory on our server for the few seconds it takes to write them. They are never written to our database.
- We send your reflections to OpenAI to generate your summary and drafts. That is the only third party that sees them.
- We never sell your data, never show you ads, and never share anything with your partner.
What we collect, and why
| What | Where it lives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | Stored by Supabase, our backend provider, for as long as your account exists | The only thing that identifies your account — used to sign you in and, if you contact us, to reply. We do not send marketing email. |
| The intensity, feeling and need you select, and your answers to the five reflection questions | Processed but not stored. Sent to our server, used to generate your summary and drafts, then discarded when the request finishes | Not written to a database, not attached to your account, and not kept in our logs |
| Purchase status | Recorded by RevenueCat, our subscription provider | If you subscribe to Repair Plus, the purchase itself is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We can see that an anonymous user ID has an active subscription. We never see your card details. |
| Basic technical logs | Rotated and deleted within 30 days | That a request happened, its outcome (success, failure, rate limit) and the account ID that made it, so we can fix faults and detect abuse. These logs do not contain anything you wrote. |
We do not collect your name, your location, your contacts, your photos, device identifiers for advertising, or any analytics profile of how you use the app.
How AI is used
When you finish the five reflection questions, your selections and your answers are sent from your phone to our server, and from there to OpenAI's API, which generates your summary and the three message drafts.
- The request goes to OpenAI over an encrypted connection, under our commercial API account. OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.
- We do not send your email address or any account identifier to OpenAI along with your text.
- Neither we nor OpenAI keep the content as part of your account.
The output is generated by a language model. It can be wrong, clumsy, or miss the point. Everything it writes is an editable draft — you decide what, if anything, to send.
The safety route
Before anything is sent anywhere, the app checks your text on your own device for language suggesting violence, coercion, or self harm. If it finds any, nothing is sent to our server or to OpenAI at all — the app shows you support information instead. Our server runs the same check a second time as a backstop.
This is a simple keyword check, not a clinical assessment. It will miss things, and it will sometimes stop for text that turns out to be harmless.
What a Repair Plus subscription touches
Repair Plus is an optional, paid subscription sold through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies; we never see or store your card details.
To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc. (United States), a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives your account identifier and the purchase or subscription status the store reports for it. It does not receive your reflections or anything you typed in the app. Because RevenueCat is outside the UK and EU, this limited transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Who else is involved
| Provider | What they handle | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Your account and sign-in emails | United States |
| OpenAI | Generating your summary and drafts | United States |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status | United States |
| Google Play / Apple | Taking payment | Varies |
Each is bound by its own contract with us to process data only on our instructions. Sending your reflections to OpenAI, and your email address to Supabase, means they leave the UK/EU; those transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreements with those providers.
How long we keep things
- Your reflections and drafts: not kept. Seconds, in memory only.
- Your email address: until you delete your account.
- Technical logs: rotated and deleted within 30 days.
- Purchase records: kept by RevenueCat and the app stores for as long as required by their own terms and by tax law.
What we never do
- We never sell data, or share anything for advertising.
- We never publish anything. There is no feed and no other users.
- We never share anything with your partner. Sharing a drafted message uses your phone's own share sheet, which you control each time.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time, in the app: Settings → Delete account. That permanently removes your account and your email address from our systems. It cannot be undone. Because we never stored your reflections, there is nothing else of yours for us to remove.
If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to access, correct, or export your data, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Given what we hold, an access request will return your email address and your subscription status. Email arnold.oshenye@oshylabs.eu and we will action it within 30 days.
If you are a United States resident, several states give you rights to know, access, correct and delete personal information. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising.
Deleting your Repair account does not cancel your subscription — cancel that in your Google Play or Apple App Store account settings.
Children
Repair is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
A note on what the app is. Repair is not therapy, counselling, medical advice, or a crisis service, and it does not provide any of those things. It cannot assess your situation, and it cannot respond to an emergency. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number — 999 in the UK, 112 across the EU, 911 in the US. The app's safety screen lists free, confidential helplines.
Security
Traffic between the app, our server, and OpenAI is encrypted in transit. Our AI provider key is held as a server-side secret and is never present in the app. Access to our backend is limited to OshyLabs staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Repair handles data in a way that affects what we do with your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
